Schools & Nurseries

Here at Rebekah's Dance Academy we offer tailored street and hip hop dance workshops to a variety of schools, nurseries and youth clubs that can be
delivered in Welsh, English or a combination of the two.

These workshops are designed to help children get excited about physical
activity as well as engaging them mentally and creatively and having a positive impact on various aspects of their lives including their confidence and mental health, all while developing their dance and movement skills.
These sessions can be adapted to suit a variety of age groups and will
include:

A fun and effective warm up
Movement games
Dancing with props
An introduction to hip hop moves and dancing to the beat
A short section of choreography
A cool down

In addition to the dance and physical activity elements of the workshops there will also be a focus on mental health and at the end of each session we will be conducting a child friendly introduction to meditation followed by positive affirmations. This has proven to help boost self esteem, promote a growth mindset, improve productivity and help to combat negative thoughts in all ages. This short mental health focused section at the end of our dance workshops paired with the dancing itself is a powerful combination as moving your body to music releases endorphins and learning new moves and chorography greatly increases confidence and the meditation and affirmations at the end help to boost self esteem even more and increase happiness levels, encourage self love and increase overall quality of life.

As previously mentioned I am trained in both dance and child development. This means that Rebekah's Dance Academy workshops are designed to not only help children's physical fitness, creative expression and mental health but also the development of certain skills such as social, speech and language, coordination and control, spatial awareness and large motor skills. This, along with the fantastic music, engaging games and choreography, our wealth of experience and the props and sensory equipment provided make our children's dance workshops the perfect option for schools, nurseries and youth groups across North Wales.
